The holiday season is a key, pivotal time for companies in every industry. Special seasonal discounts and campaigns are everywhere you look, as businesses offer deals to their client base, both long-term and newly acquired.

While it can be difficult to compete, marketing during this time of the year for the print industry companies is incredibly important. While attention is focused on retailers and big box stores, it is possible to achieve an impact with long-term customers and newly acquired ones, with some creativity and effort. These last few weeks are not to be missed out on, for that reason, here are some tips on how to use the holiday season effectively for B2B marketing:

Begin planning early

Perhaps its obvious, but this is the logical starting point. You should be giving yourself extra time to plan out far in ahead your various product and service campaigns, targeting your overall client base and specific customer segments.

Now is the time to fill out your December content calendar with various promotional initiatives so that you can see in advance where to focus your time. Just as with holiday shopping, it's better to  have everything finished ahead of time over scrambling at the last minute.

Create holiday themed content

Get your customers in the spirit by providing seasonal-centric graphics and features on your website and social media profiles. You can also customize time-specific custom campaigns with the traditional colors and iconography of the holidays. This way, you are easily grabbing people's attention, and providing a relevant, topical message.

Show your sense of appreciation

In all of your marketing efforts, it is important to showcase sentimentality and good tidings. As the end of the year is coming, it is a time for reflection on how your business as performed, so why not pay things back to the people who helped make it happen for you?

Consider sending out holiday cards thanking customers for their dedication, as this is a fantastic way to maintain the connections you hold from business to business. Also, think about other print products you could order that would help with your promotions or marketing endeavors.

Utilize paid social media advertising

Social media is extremely busy at this time of year - not only are people doing their shopping through channels that provide recommendations for their gift purchases, they are also uploading and sharing holiday themed content as they get together with friends and family to celebrate.

This increase in traffic does mean that you may be paying a higher price per ad campaign, but in the long run it will be more than worth doing, especially when you can evaluate the effects in the new year.
